For some reason I get worse quality (somewhat) when using OB, so at the moment I'm sticking with xSplit.

Might be because I haven't done a lot of testing back and forth with the bitrates n such.
At least I don't have any problems with xSplit (qualitywise).

Do -not- keep quality at 10.

10 is an option for slower games with less change on the screen

All fps's or fast motion games should be set to 5-6

According to OBS tooltip, 10 is fine when using high bitrate. It basically balances the quality of high motion frames around the overall bitrate, so if you set that number high, your still frames will have high bitrate, even if they don't need it, which leaves less overall bitrate for high motion frames. So if your bitrate is set high enough, it won't matter, motion frames will get their share.

High enough for [email protected] means 3k+.

Strange, but somewhy my video and stream FPS drops to 30 while streaming with, is it because of specs?

Intel Core i7-3630QM (#4 cores, #8 threads, 2.4GHz up to 3.4GHz, 6MB cache). http://ark.intel.com/products/71459
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M, 2GB Dedicated VRAM.
8GB DDR3 RAM.

[email protected], 2500 Kbps, quality 8.

Preset should always be veryfast, unless you have a 6-8 core processor and try to squeeze more quality in lower bandwidth.

Although it should be noted, the reason why so many viewers complain about lag, is because most streamers and guides use variable bitrate (VBR) which is not optimized for our current internet protocol (TCP); and this is why Twitch.tv actually recommends constant bitrate (CBR).

A good setting for CBR would be [email protected], 2500 Kbps with --ratetol=30, in the advanced settings command line. It allows the bitrate to vary around 2500 plus/minus 30% of that. It won't be as spiky as VBR, and it won't be as wasted/bad quality as just CBR.

Hmm I have 2.4 MB Upload speed, AMD Athlon Quad Core processor 3.4 GHZ, nVidia Geforce GT630 and 2GB Ram (I will add 2 more soon but I guess ram doesnt affect streaming a lot?) and I have major lag spikes on my stream. Any suggestions?
